Description

Chrysalis House, Inc. is a leading behavioral health agency for women and their children. Chrysalis House provides a safe, sober, and structured environment where women receive counseling, life skills training, parenting skills education, case management, and recreational activities. Chrysalis House’s focus is to aid women through their addiction and mental health treatment, while helping them build a strong foundation in recovery, become better mothers, and learn to be financially stable.

Chrysalis House is seeking a full time Residential Coach to assist in all duties related to the functioning of residential programs and coordinating activities for our residents in Crownsville, Maryland.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assumes ongoing responsibility of the residential environment during assigned shift, (in the absence of the Residential Operations Manager). Is responsible for carrying out the instructions of the Residential Operations Manager.
  • Assumes responsibility for supervising the clients in the house, outside the area of the facility, etc., following the daily schedule.
  • Assists in planning and conducting recreational activities; supervises work and study programs.
  • Maintains a safe and welcoming house environment. Enforces program rules and performs disciplinary tasks in accordance with resident's manual and policy and procedures. Manages client passes in accordance with current treatment levels. Responsible for mentoring clients - explaining client boundaries, house rules and house operations.
  • Transports clients to appointments and AA/NA meetings as needed during hours on duty. Maintains vehicle mileage log for all trips. Runs residential errands, including donation pick-ups, grocery & supply shopping, etc. as assigned by Program Manager.
  • Collects urine as required, assuring that all clients pay the fee prior to collecting sample. Drops off urine and fees to the Urine Monitoring Program. Completes all necessary documentation and informs the Residential Operations Manager of those clients who owe money for urine tests.
  • Reports any emergency to the Residential Shift Supervisor, Program director and/or Clinical Director immediately. In the event of medical, police, fire, or disaster emergency, follows the applicable emergency procedure.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma, GED or a combination of education and experience
  • Experience in human services or education related field highly desirable
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Clean driving record and valid driver's license.
  • CPR and First AID, Certification a plus.
