Chrysalis House, Inc. is seeking a Residential Coach working flexible hours to include overnight, evening and weekend hours to assist in all duties related to the functioning of the Healthy Start program and coordinating activities for our residents in Baltimore, Maryland. Full time Residential Coaches are essential employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the safety and upkeep of the residential environment during assigned shift.
  • Responsible for supervising the clients in the house, outside the area of the facility, etc., following the daily schedule.
  • Assist in planning and conducting recreational activities; supervises work and study programs.
  • Maintain a safe and welcoming house environment. Enforces program rules in accordance with resident's manual and agency policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for monitoring and documenting medication.
  • Responsible for mentoring clients - explaining client boundaries, house rules and house operations.
  • Transport clients to appointments and AA/NA meetings as needed during hours on duty. Maintains vehicle mileage log for all trips. Runs residential errands, including grocery & supply shopping, etc. as assigned by Program Manager.
  • Prepare vacant rooms for the arrival of new residents ensuring that the room is sanitized and welcoming.
  • Report any emergency to the Residential Operations Manager and/or Clinical Director immediately. In the event of medical, police, fire, or disaster emergency, follows the applicable emergency procedure.
  • Completes daily shift report of events and incidents in the electronic management system
  • Must be available to work on call when required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or a combination of education and experience
  • Experience in human services or education related field highly desirable
  • CPR, First AID and Med Certification a plus
  • Clear driving record and valid driver’s license required
  • Pre-employment criminal background check and a clear drug test are required
