Description

The mission of Chrysalis House, Inc. is to transform the lives of women and children by providing comprehensive recovery programs and services that support the development of their inherent strengths, talents, and potential.

We are looking for a PART TIME Mental Health Therapist to work in our residential treatment facility supporting our population of adult women with issues such as domestic/partner violence, history of abuse, history of incarceration and/or homelessness, clients with history of mental health disorders, clients with history of learning difficulties, anger issues, parenting issues, anxiety and depression. This is done through group and individual therapy sessions for Chrysalis House clients in its Crownsville, Maryland location.

We emphasize on COVID safety protocols for in-person work expectations, daily screening of staff and clients, masks and social distancing are all required. In addition, this position allow for flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. CEUs for therapists and other positions are available.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling to clients on mental health, addiction and recovery issues.
  • Analyze information about clients through records, tests, interviews, and professional sources.
  • Assess extent of social, vocational, educational, and psychological problems in order to determine necessary scope of treatment interventions.
  • Functions as part of the Treatment Team by attending staffing, treatment plan reviews etc., to ensure appropriate clinical interventions and ongoing monitoring of client’s progress
  • Facilitate community service linkage for clients, as defined by client’s individual treatment plan.
  • Make appropriate recommendations for necessary outside services and aftercare programs with the direction and consultation of the Clinical Director.

Qualifications

  • Minimum education level is a Master's Degree in counseling, psychology, social work or related field.
  • Must be a LGSW, LCSW-C, LMHC, LGPC or LCPC in the State of Maryland.
  • Experience in child and family mental health services.
  • Experience and knowledge of trauma informed care, including individual, family and group therapy.
  • Experience working in substance abuse is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced residential facility supporting adult women of all races, cultures, and sexual orientations.
  • Successful candidate needs to be able to work independently, multi-task responsibilities, maintain and enter clear and timely case notes in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system for all sessions.
